Our staff are equipped with the latest handheld technology enabling them to view and update care records instantly. This allows them to devote more of their time to listen and respond to your needs.

In all Oakdale homes, our highly trained staff understand that every individual has different needs, so we take the extra time to get to know you, your likes, dislikes, passions and hobbies in order to support and care for you in the best possible way.

Dementia Care

We know that living with dementia can be a very difficult and lonely experience. All Oakdale homes provide the care and support needed to ensure it doesn’t have to be that way for you or your loved one. All staff undergo a training course to provide them with insight into the various forms of dementia and the complexities that can sometimes go along with it.

Residents living with dementia receive the patience,  empathy and dignity they deserve and require, in order to sustain their overall well-being.

We aim to work closely with family, friends and loved ones to ensure we support every aspect of your care, from creating a care plan, to understanding your life history, plus all the things that make you unique.

Knowing the important people in your life, past and present, gives us a basis for relaxed communication, hopefully making it a far more comfortable experience when settling into your new home.

We strive to keep you and your family connected in all aspects  of your care on an ongoing basis through a variety of means:

  • Care reviews — both informally and formally
  • Access to an online care portal (Person Centred Software) which documents and displays electronically the care being delivered*
  • Engagement through social media, regularly keeping you informed of activities in the home
  • Welcoming your friends and family to join you for meals, drinks and activities any time
*Access permitted with permission of the resident or with Legal Power of Attorney over health affairs.
