Lifestyle Manager successfully becomes a Chair-based Exercise Instructor and runs her first session in the home
Westhill Park’s Lifestyle Manager, Hannah Kinloch, has successfully completed her ‘Sit and Stay Fit’ training, funded by Northamptonshire County Council as part of the Reducing Falls & Promoting Bone Health Strategic Commissioning Framework. By taking this course, Hannah now has an understanding of the effects of ageing on the body systems and techniques to improve balance, flexibility and strength.
Hannah held her first session at the home this week, which proved very popular with the many residents that attended. The sessions will be run twice a week and will help to improve the physical, social and mental well-being of our residents and help them to maintain independent living, which we know is very important.
Hannah said of her first class: “It was great to see the residents so enthusiastic about the class and I was thrilled to hear the positive feedback from them afterwards. I feel I have gained so much knowledge from the course, so it was great to put this into practice.”
