PLEASE NOTE we are currently updating our website with the following Visitor Policy information – this will be available via our drop down menu very soon. If you have any queries or concerns please do let us know.
Oakdale Care Group welcomes and encourages open visiting to our Care Homes, provided that it is acceptable to the resident and it does not adversely affect their quality of life in any way.
Staff must ensure that every visitor is welcomed in a friendly and courteous way and dealt with in a professional manner while observing the need to be vigilant with regards to the security of our residents and staff.
All visitors to the home must sign the visitor’s book and inform staff of their presence so that staff can record visits in the care profile.
If a visitor wishes to discuss any issues relating to a resident or their care they must be directed to a senior staff member and details of the discussion documented in the resident care profile. Staff must remember to maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
It may on occasion be necessary for visitors to wear protective clothing or use protective equipment. Staff should explain that this is necessary to reduce risks and reassure visitors and residents.
Oakdale Care Group has been vigilant throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to protect our residents and staff. We have recently been able to support our residents to have visitors by the use of outside visits, gazebo’s and our newly created socially isolated garden rooms.
The government has now issued guidance to support relatives to visit care homes, assessing the benefit of our residents receiving visitors while being mindful of the risk of introducing infection into the home.
At Oakdale Care Group we are already supporting our families to visit in excess of the new guidelines and are confident that we can continue with our present visiting arrangements.
Please continue to book visits in advance so that we can manage the number of visitors at any one time. Please ensure that you attend 10 minutes prior to your visiting time, so you can complete the Covid-19 questionnaire and have your temperature taken and sanitise your hands. You will also be required to record your address and telephone number, a requirement from the government to comply with their track and trace system.
After each visit in the garden room or in the gazebo any hard surfaces will be cleaned to ensure that there is no risk of cross contamination between visits.
If your visit takes place in the garden please ensure that you maintain a distance of 1-2 metres at all times during your visit.
Please do not visit if you or anyone you have had contact with, have symptoms of Covid-19 or if you are waiting for the results of a test.
This guidance is subject to change due to the evolving nature of the pandemic and government guidance.
We understand you may have concerns around taking a tour of our care home but please rest assured all measures are being taken with appropriate PPE being worn to ensure everyone’s safety. If you would prefer a virtual and interactive tour we are also very pleased to be able to offer this personal service.
