Andrew and Chris joined in all the special fun on the evening of Wednesday 12th June when they helped serve and look after our residents and their guests. The theme of the evening was ‘Best of Britain’ including tables named after some of Britain’s most famous landmarks. It was a bright sunny evening and the rich colourful surroundings of the library created the perfect setting for the intimate affair. Residents’ families said they had looked forward to going ‘out’ with their loved one knowing they were in safe surroundings and with help at hand.
The food served on the evening included choices of classic prawn cocktail or forester pate and melba toast for starters followed by a choice of pork loin on red cabbage with a cider sauce or ribeye steak and mushroom sauce. The desert choices were raspberry creme brûlée or apricot bread and butter pudding. This was followed by the cheeseboard selection. All accompanied with a selection of fine wines. Westhill’s Pop Up must go down as one of Oakdale’s LATEST evenings as the last guest to leave us was at 2.30am!! A truly wonderful night was had by all. One resident said; ‘it was perfect, it was like taking dad out again, like we used to’.
