Oakdale Fundraising Extravaganza raises a whopping £1730 for the Alzheimer’s Society
Last week all four of our Care Homes held their very own ‘Cupcake Day’ to support the Alzheimer’s Society, who have been asking people across the country to ‘get together, bake up a storm and raise some dough’ to support those affected by dementia.
Residents and staff across all four homes enjoyed a day full of activities, playing games such as ‘Hook the flamingo’, ‘Pin the tail on the donkey’ and competing against each other in a hula hoop challenge, to name but a few. There was even a management ‘hands free’ cake eating competition at Timken Grange, to the delight of their residents who loved cheering them on.
Plenty of delicious homemade cupcakes were enjoyed at Layston Grove and Westhill Park and even an ice cream van made an appearance at Kingfisher Court!
In total the homes raised a whopping £1730.00 for the Alzheimer’s Society, thanks to the very kind donations from relatives, staff and the local community. A fantastic achievement for a fantastic cause!
