Grand opening of ‘new social distancing’ room at Layston Grove
Layston Grove opened their new ‘social distancing’ room this week, to allow residents to safely be reunited with their family members again. The garden room, which has an external door leading to the grounds of the home, has been divided down the middle and fitted with a secure Perspex screen.
Residents have been using online technology to speak to loved ones during lockdown, but, thanks to the transformation of the garden room, residents have been able to reunite with family and friends once more.
The room was officially opened by a much- loved resident, who cut the ribbon and was overjoyed to be reunited with her daughter.
Home Manager, Samantha Campbell said, “It was so heart-warming and very exciting for our residents to be able to see their loved ones again. It has been a long time of face time and video calling, but to be able to spend some time together has been such a happy occasion.”
